Chauvel op de praatstoel
The first war I went to, the Six-Day War, I came back with no pictures. I didn't know how to handle the camera, it was a disaster. The only picture I got was when I gave the camera to an Israeli soldier who then shot a picture of me and a sergeant. She was ugly but she was the first sergeant I ever had. Those stripes really count, you know. Even though she was ugly.
As a war photographer, women are attracted to you because you have an exciting profession. It's an unpredictable lifestyle, you are away a lot of the time. And the women leave for exactly the same reason they became attracted to you.
